2016 National Work Conference on Trade Remedy Held in Beijing

  

On April 6-7, 2016, the Ministry of Commerce held the Work Conference on Trade Remedy in Beijing, at which MOFCOM summarized the trade remedy work at the previous stage, studied the situation of trade disputes and arranged the tasks in the future. The Assistant Minister of Commerce Zhang Ji attended the meeting and made a speech.

Zhang Ji pointed out since the financial crisis in 2008, the trade disputes situation faced by China has become even more severe. The Central Party Committee and the State Council paid great attention to the handling of trade disputes. We handled and solved several disputes in many ways such as actively carrying out legal plea, dialogues and consultations and promoting industrial cooperation. The overall level and ability of China in trade remedy is promoted largely.

Zhang required that we should realize soberly that there are still weakness and shortages in the work. The trade remedy work in 2016 should be carried out from 6 aspects: firstly, to innovate the long-term planning and to orderly guide the industrial and local development; secondly, to innovate the thoughts and measures for standardizing export order effectively; thirdly, to innovate the thoughts and measures for handling trade disputes; fourthly, to further explore the modes of solving disputes through cooperation and to realize mutual benefits; fifthly, to strengthen the normalization and mechanism construction of trade remedy work; sixthly, to further strengthen the construction of handling capability.

140 representatives attended the conference, including those from related departments of the State Council, the Supreme Court, the commercial departments of the provinces, the autonomous regions, the direct-controlled municipalities, the municipalities with independent planning status and Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, as well as the related industrial associations, chambers of commerce and research institutions.
